Not as Planned…

when things do't go our way.jpg

Hello there,

I am seriously in the middle of nowhere and I am sited amidst strangers I might never meet again in life. Yes please that is my punchline. Trust me I am not one that is not comfortable in the midst of strangers! But now that I am here I have no choice but to accept it and make the best of the situation. Now, what best can I make of this cramped situation? I am still thinking!

I did want some bit of adventure this new year to at least spice up my life but travelling on the road for twenty something hours was definitely not my dream come true. I looked around and the only familiar face that happens to belong to a good friend of mine was far in dream land. She is supposed to keep me company but what company can she offer from dreamland if not her constant waking up whenever the bus made a turn or just juggle us around when there is a pothole.

Shout out to the wonderful persons that invented power outlets and head phones, believe me they occupy special places in my heart. With my headphones stuck in my ears listening to some random radio station playing gospel songs a not so random thought dropped into my mind.

“What do we do when things don’t go our way?”

I was supposed to be traveling for just about six hours but now I am stuck with more than a day’s journey and the situation definitely did not go as planned and mapped out by my mind. Personally, I have had my share of the ups and downs of life where it seems like am literally in the middle of nowhere and even my family and friends felt like complete strangers to me. I don’t know if you know what I am trying to express to you because those times I just do not know anything.

One of the most invaluable lessons I learnt during those times is to accept that things would not always go as I have planned or envisaged. The tide would not always be in my favor. What a hard pill to swallow!

Elizabeth Edwards once said “She stood in the storm and when the winds did not blow her way she adjusted her sails”.  While trying to figure out how to move to the next level, I adjust my sails by giving it all back to the God that mends broken pieces and believe me that “magic” always works because every time I go back to the Savior I come back happier than I went.

It’s time for me to recline into my chair and try to get some sleep since it is that time of the day when man sleeps. I hope the next bus stop has enough food to sustain me for the remaining part of the journey

Till next time…

Stay becoming!!!
